The Problem

Create a website that could be a great representation of their business goals and values and very intuitive even for the least tech savvy users. The website is to appeal and be used by not only small store/business owners, but also to introduce the company to big businesses.

The barrier

Client is trying to expand his business and to reach out to more small and big businesses, such as Nestle, but has limited man power for the use of traditional in-person and phone call methods.

My Role

I worked as a UX Designer and full-stack developer to research, brand, architect, design and develop the company’s website.

Initial Research

Given the diversity of target users and the complexity of the company’s process and their tools, I had to spend some time studying the users and their needs and the company’s overall process.

I used competitive analysis, surveys and interviews with clients and the company’s staff to learn the users’ behavioral patterns, such as how (On which platform) they will access the website? what information they’ll most likely look for? And their preferred way of getting the needed information, such as writings, images, videos, etc.

Concept & Design

The next step was to design and create the necessary flow charts, wireframes and prototypes for user testing.

Research Findings

Based on my research users mainly needed to know information about the company’s sustainability, the technologies they used, their service areas, and most importantly they valued the company’s credibility and trustworthiness.

Not so surprisingly, the majority of the users also mentioned that they do not appreciate having to read or listen to a lot of information. So I had to come up with a more straight forward way of transferring the necessary information, that was also engaging and quite graspable for even the most inexperienced users.

Final Product

Given that the company’s clients varied considerably from one another, and considering that the majority of the company’s competitors were more strictly business focused, I decided to use branding elements that promoted the company’s softer, family-oriented and caring (environmentally friendly) side, which was meant to appeal to the users’ emotions and to further promote the company’s credibility and trustworthiness.

I then conducted remote usability tests to ensure that the website is functioning effectively and used the data to refine and iterate in pursuit of the perfect final product.
